Here is a list of the number of Invisibility Shields to sell in order to upgrade your fortification to the next level. Knowing when to upgrade your fortification given the number of Invisibility Shields you have helps a lot.(This guide applies to AGE 12 as well)
If you have 5 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Camp, sell 1 Invisibility Shields and purchase Stockade.
If you have 6 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Stockade, sell 1 Invisibility Shield and purchase Rabid Pitbulls.
If you have 7 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Rabid Pitbulls, sell 1 Invisibility Shield and purchase Walled Town.
If you have 8 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Walled Town, sell 1 Invisibility Shield and purchase Towers.
If you have 18 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Towers, sell 2 Invisibility Shields and purchase Battlements.
If you have 30 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Battlements, sell 3 Invisibility Shields and purchase Portcullis.
If you have 55 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Portcullis, sell 5 Invisibility Shields and purchase Boiling Oil.
If you have 120 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Boiling Oil, sell 10 Invisibility Shields and purchase Trenches.
If you have 247 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Trenches, sell 19 Invisibility Shields and purchase Moat.
If you have 518 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Moat, sell 37 Invisibility Shields and purchase Drawbridge.
If you have 1,095 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Drawbridge, sell 73 Invisibility Shields and purchase Fortress.
If you have 2,336 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Fortress, sell 146 Invisibility Shields and purchase Stronghold.
If you have 4,964 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Stronghold, sell 292 Invisibility Shields and purchase Palace.
If you have 10,494 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Palace, sell 583 Invisibility Shields and purchase Keep.
If you have 22,154 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Keep, sell 1166 Invisibility Shields and purchase Citadel.
If you have 46,620 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Citadel, sell 2331 Invisibility Shields and purchase Hand of God.

Yes, it applies to Age 11.
Is there a similar guide when to upgrade siege technology?
if i upgrade my fortification, does the 25% only apply to my current DA/SA or does it increase every purchase after that aswell.
The 25% is applied to your entire DA (33% for SA) even if you buy extra weapons after you did the upgrade.
What is the significance of upgrading your fortification after you have the set number of invisibility shields listed in this guide?
Example: I have 1,000 invisibility shields and I decide to sell the 292 to upgrade to the Palace.
How is this any different than selling from a stock of 10,000?
When you have 1000, and you buy it, your DA goes down. When you have 10000 and you buy the upgrade, your DA should go up. IS THERE A SIMILAR GUIDE FOR WHEN TO BUY SIEGE UPGRADES?
