How to Get a Fast Start at the Beginning of the Age

How do you get a good start at the beginning of the age? There are several possible answers to that question. The following tip is only one of the ways.

1) The first thing to do at the start of the age is TO INCREASE the number of soldiers (or total fighting force, TFF) that you have. Spend the initial gold given at the start of the age on UNIT PRODUCTION (UP) upgrade. Take note, however, that UP costs have varied throughout the various ages. Thus, if the initial gold can be spent on UP upgrade, spend it. If not, spend the gold on retraining your soldiers into TRAINED ATTACK SOLDIERS and buying as much defense mercenaries with the remaining gold. If there is littl gold left, buy some defense weapons.

2) Stack-up your attack turns until they reach somewhere between 200-230 or anything less than the limit of 250. This will take some time (roughly around 25 days assuming you get 1 turn per 3 hours and you're aiming for 200 attack turns). While waiting, spend your TBG (Turn-based gold) on training attack soldiers, purchasing defense weapons and buying defense mercenaries.

3) After earning the turns, RETRAIN some of your attack soldiers into SPIES. The number depends on your style or preference, but I suggest maintaining at least 75-100 attack soldiers. And then;

4) Spend a few turns attacking AND spending the gold on ATTACK WEAPONS. I suggest spending somewhere between 20 and 50 turns and using the gold you pillage to purchase the highest attack weapon possible. It may not necessarily be a Blackpowder Missile YET. And then;

5) Spend another 20 to 50 turns. Use the gold you get to upgrade your UP if you still haven't upgraded it yet. AND/OR, use the gold to upgrade your Covert Level. And then;

6) Spend the remaining turns that you have left and using the gold you get to raise the following areas in ORDER: (a)Siege technology (b)Attack Weapons (c)Spy tools (d)Covert level (e)Defense weapons (f)Sentry tools. I recommmend that you focus on building your SENTRY RATING by purchasing sentry tools and training sentries IF the attack turns that you have REMAINING are between 50 or below.

7)REPEAT PROCESS.
REMEMBER, the tip that I gave you is just of the MANY ways to start the age, and it depends roughly on your playing style (i.e. your RACE, your game activity). I'll try to write some others

KoC Effective Offense Strategy

kings of chaos attack offense
There are at least three scenarios to consider if you are to mount an offensive against your enemies in the battlefield: (1) If you are a member of an alliance and you're staging an offensive against another member of an alliance, (2) if you do not have an alliance and you're staging an offensive against another member of an alliance, and (3) if you do not have an alliance and you're staging an offensive against another player who does not belong to an alliance. In any of these three cases, the key is to create a good strategy.

(1) If you are a member of an alliance and you're staging an offensive against another member of an alliance:

Avoid hitting other members of the alliance, especially the officers (if there are any) of your target. This may ensure that no other players from the other alliance will be hitting you, and that the attacks/sabotage attempts will only be between you and your target. If, however, other players from the other alliance hit you, it is best to engage them in a dialogue and tell them to stay out of the conflict. If they continue hitting you, then seek the help from your clan mates. In the end, an all-out clan war is most likely to follow.

(2) If you do not have an alliance and you're staging an offensive against another member of an alliance:

It is most likely the case that the alliance members of your target will try to hit you. If you have a decent spy rating, retaliate by sabotaging back those who are hitting you. You can even try to "farm" them, assuming you have a higher strike action than their defense. The idea is that you will be bringing damage to more players instead of just one, and your enemies only have one person to strike against. Make sure that your focus remains on your sole target. Be warned, though, that this type of warfare can take the rest of the age unless you try to offer a truce.

(3) If you do not have an alliance and you're staging an offensive against another player who does not belong to an alliance:

This is the perhaps the best fight to fight, so to speak, since you're battling a single player with no affiliations. Outsmart him by turning him into your farm. Attack him five times a day (the attack limit is 5 times per 24 hours on one player) in order to deprive him of his precious gold while killing his spies and sentries at the same time. Sabotage first either his sentry tools or defense weapons, followed by his spy tools and attack weapons IF you initiated the conflict. Otherwise, do the opposite strategy which is to sabotage first his attack weapons and spy tools followed by his defense weapons and sentry tools.

Remember, this guide is not a fool-proof strategy. Circumstances may vary along the way.

KoC Races: Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Orcs and Undead

KoC Races
You can choose your own race in Kings of Chaos. Each race has its own bonuses, giving certain advantages, from attack to defense, or from spy to sentry. Choosing a race should depend on your game style so that you can maximize the corresponding bonuse for each race. Here are some tips on what KoC race to choose.

koc undead
UNDEAD

35% Sentry Bonus
50% Fewer Casualties
20% Attack Bonus

If you plan to use your attack turns instead of saving them up, and if you intend to hit elves and humans, it is best for you to choose the Undead race. With 50% fewer casualties, you will lose less soldiers in battle. The 20% attack bonus gives you an edge over other races, specifically Humans and Elves since they have no defense bonus. With 35% sentry bonus, there is less chance for Humans and Elves to sabotage you in retaliation. Dwarves and Orcs also have less chance of seeing your gold in the battlefield.

koc orcs
ORCS

40% Attack Bonus
20% Defense Bonus

If you plan to consistently use your attack turns and attack high-ranked players with high defense or players who wait for their gold to pile-up before spending them, it is best for you to choose Orcs. The 40% attack bonus gives you maximum damage potential to the enemy, giving more chance to steal gold. Add to that the bonus given by your siege technoloy and the attack rate of Orcs is taken to a whole new level. Orcs are ideal for attacking and stealing gold from top players. The 20% defense bonus gives a slight protection against attacks from other players who might be seeing the gold you have stolen from other players.

koc humans
HUMANS

25% Income Bonus
15% Spy Bonus

If you plan to use your attack turns every now and then and scout for targets in the battlefield, it is best to choose Humans. The 25% income bonus provides the gold you need to spend on a wide range of weapons, from defense to attack and from spy to sentry. Beware, though, because Humans are potential farm targets because of their high income, especially Humans with huge armies. You can decide, however, to minimize the number of soldiers you have in order to prevent being farmed. It is in my belief that the Human race is the most well-rounded race. Humans can become stout defenders by purchasing more defense weapons and sentry tools. They can also become huge attackers by purchasing more attack weapons and spy tools.

koc elves
ELVES

35% Spy Bonus
40% Fewer casualties

If you intend to focus on spying and sabotaging other players, as well as on breaking the sabotaged defense weapons of your enemies, it is best for you to choose Elves. The 35% spy bonus gives you a big advantage in terms of seeing the gold of other players in the battlefield and sabotaging the weapons of your enemies. With 40% fewer casualties, you will be losing less soldiers when you attack other players for gold or for breaking the weapons you have sabotaged.

koc dwarves
DWARVES

50% Defense Bonus
10% Income Bonus

If you intend to stack-up your attack turns, if you check your account for the purpose of spending your gold, or if you log-in to your account rarely, it is best for you to choose Dwarves. With 50% defense bonus (which is the highest bonus so far in Kings of Chaos this age), you will be able to defend the attacks of other players, thereby securing your gold for yourself. And with 10% income bonus, you can have more gold to spend on defense weapons, further boosting the thickness of your defense to thwart the attacks of your enemies in the battlefield.

KoC Morale

KoC kings of chaos Morale
I've got a few Kings of Chaos players asking questions like "what does morale do?" or "how do I increase my morale?" For starters, morale in KoC Age X or Age 10 is the same as click credits which are obviously the credits you receive for clicking on the recruit links of other players. Basically, you can't increase your morale by clicking on your own unique link although it can increase the number of soldiers up to 5 (because you can only click on your link for a maximum of 5 times; 1 click equals to 1 additional soldier). Here are a few other things about "morale" in Kings of Chaos/Koc.

  1. You basically have to go to the recruit page by clicking on the recruit tab at the left side of your KoC page for you to be able to click on other players' links. Once you're already there, you have to click on the numbers you see OR you have to type-in the number in the small text-box just below the page. This will increase your morale.

  2. If you have, say, 1000 morale, you also have 1000 click credits. However, be reminded that it does not mean you'll be having 1000 soldiers immediately. Click credits (or morale) only means that you can expect other players to click on your recruit link 1000 times or even more, but it may take a while. You may get 1000 soldiers in the end from the 1000 morale/click credits you have, but believe me when I say it may take weeks.

  3. If you have a negative morale, it does not mean you won't be receiving click credits any longer. You might still get a few clicks and, therefore, soldiers here and there every once in a while.

  4. Morale is not included in the computation for your rank. Regardless of whether you have thousands of morale or not, your rank is still computed according to your Strike Action, Defense Action, Spy and Sentry Ratings in comparison to those of other players.

Kings of Chaos (KoC) Tools

I've added two Kings of Chaos (KoC) Tools. One enables you to calculate or compute your spy rating while the other enables you to compute your income or gold (TBG). The TBG tool can be found at BOTTOM of every page in this website. The Spy/Sentry Calculator can be accessed by clicking on the blue image at the upper right side of this website.

Several reminders, though. Make sure you remove commas in your numbers. Instead of "5,000" type "5000" without the comma. As for the spy rating calculator/simulator, the assumption is that you have more spies than the total number of spy tools you have. Make sure that you select the right "race" since elves and humans have spy bonuses, 35% and 15% respectively. Continue reading here.

How to Get More Gold or Income in Kings of Chaos (Koc)

kings of chaos how to get more gold income
Income in Kings of Chaos (KoC) is comonly referred to as TBG or Turn-Based Gold. For the complete list of KoC terms, you can follow the link HERE. So what are the ways to get more income in KoC? Well, there can only be one.

And that is by getting MORE soldiers. There are at least three ways to achieve this.

  1. Upgrade the level of your Unit Production (UP). Your unit production level, by default, is 0 soldiers per 24 hours. That means you don't get any new soldier per day. You can, however, increase this by upgrading your unit production. You can follow this link to see the list of Unit Production upgrades available.

  2. Each time you click your recruit link, you gain 1 soldier. You can click your recruit link for up to 5 times per 24 hours. Meaning, you can get 5 soldiers at most per 24 hours by simply clicking on your recruit link. Your recruit link can be found at the bottom of your command center page.

  3. By using the in-game recruiter, you can click on other players' links. In effect, you get higher morale. The higher your morale, the more click credits on your recruit link you get which, hopefully, will get you more soldiers at the end of the day. The KoC in-game recruiter can be found in the recruit tab on the left side of your KoC page.

In essence, the more soldiers you have means the more income (gold) you make. Soldiers are the gold-producing units in the game with the exception, of course, of mercenaries. Take note, though, that trained soldiers get more income than untrained soldiers and spies/sentries. Spies/sentries produce the least amount of gold. You get gold once every 30 minutes.

KoC Sab Immunity

It is possible to gain sab immunity in Kings of Chaos Age X. There is a way for you on how not to be sabotaged. You can be immune from sabotage if the following condition are met:

The gold worth of the least strongest weapon you have in your armory is less than 0.5% of the total gold worth of all the weapons in your armory.

*The basic premise here is that you can only sabotage 1/200th of the total gold worth of your target's armory per turn.

Therefore, if your target has 100 Blackpowder Missiles (BPMs), 50 Invisibility Shields (IS), 10 Nunchakus (N) and 10 Lookout Towers (LTs) in your armory (assuming these are the only weapons in the target's armory):

100 BPMs x 637,500 gold per BPM = 63,750,000 gold
50 IS x 562,500 gold per IS = 28,125,000 gold
10 N x 435,000 gold per N = 4,350,000 gold
10 LTs x 300,000 gold per LT = 3,000,000 gold

Total gold worth of armory = 99,225,000 gold

*Note that the gold value to be used is the resell value of the weapons since the resell value is the actual value for each weapons after being purchased.

Since you can only sabotage 1/200th of the total gold worth of the target's armory per turn:

1/200th of 99,225,000 gold = 496,125 gold

Thus, you can only sabotage weapons in your target's armory that have a worth (or a combined total) of 496,125 gold and LOWER per turn.

From the example above, you can only sabotage either 1 Lookout Tower OR 1 Nunchaku of the target's armory per turn since the gold worth of 1 LT is 300,000 gold while the gold worth of 1 Nunchaku is 435,000 gold, both of which are less than the limit of 496,125 gold.

NOW, to gain SAB IMMUNITY:

The total worth of your armory should be 59,700,000 gold at the MOST (assuming you only intend to keep the strongest weapon for each type, meaning BPMs for attack, IS for defense, Nunchakus for spy and LTs for sentry). 1/200th of your armory's value should be at least less 299,999 gold and nothing more since 299,999 gold is LESS THAN the worth of 1 LT.

If, on the other hand, you have other weaker types of weapons such as knives or sticks, you should include them in computing the total gold worth of your armory. Remember, you can only sabotage 1/200th of the total gold value of the target's armory. Meaning, you can NOT sabotage 1/199th of the total gold value of the target's armory.

For guidance, you can view the complete list of the resell values of all the weapons and tools in this page.

And REMEMBER, the computation used here is just for ONE turn per sab attempt.

KoC Mercenaries

kings of chaos mercenariesMercenaries in Kings of Chaos do not give you gold. However, they can save you a lot of soldiers, either defense or attack, since mercenaries are the ones that die first in battle, followed by untrained soldiers, and finally trained soldiers. Although they cost thousands of gold per mercenary depending on whether you purchase them as trained or untrained, the fact that mercenaries save you soldiers means that you save more gold-producing units. Take note, though, that you can not always buy mercenaries. The availability of these units depend on the total size of your army. Remember, you may have the gold to buy yourself a defense mercenary, for instance, it does not always mean there are available units for you to buy.
kings of chaos mercenaries
One tip: if you always use your attack turns, focus on buying attack mercenaries and training your untrained soldiers into defense soldiers. That way, you won't be losing much of your gold-producing trained attack soldiers. On the other hand, if you rarely use your attack turns and you're more of the defense-type, focus on buying defense mercenaries and training your untrained soldiers into attack soldiers.

In case you're wondering, there are no spy/sentry mercenaries. So there you go.

When To Upgrade Fortification

Here is a list of the number of Invisibility Shields to sell in order to upgrade your fortification to the next level. Knowing when to upgrade your fortification given the number of Invisibility Shields you have helps a lot.

(This guide applies to AGE 12 as well)

If you have 5 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Camp, sell 1 Invisibility Shields and purchase Stockade.

If you have 6 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Stockade, sell 1 Invisibility Shield and purchase Rabid Pitbulls.

If you have 7 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Rabid Pitbulls, sell 1 Invisibility Shield and purchase Walled Town.

If you have 8 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Walled Town, sell 1 Invisibility Shield and purchase Towers.

If you have 18 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Towers, sell 2 Invisibility Shields and purchase Battlements.

If you have 30 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Battlements, sell 3 Invisibility Shields and purchase Portcullis.

If you have 55 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Portcullis, sell 5 Invisibility Shields and purchase Boiling Oil.

If you have 120 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Boiling Oil, sell 10 Invisibility Shields and purchase Trenches.

If you have 247 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Trenches, sell 19 Invisibility Shields and purchase Moat.

If you have 518 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Moat, sell 37 Invisibility Shields and purchase Drawbridge.

If you have 1,095 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Drawbridge, sell 73 Invisibility Shields and purchase Fortress.

If you have 2,336 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Fortress, sell 146 Invisibility Shields and purchase Stronghold.

If you have 4,964 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Stronghold, sell 292 Invisibility Shields and purchase Palace.

If you have 10,494 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Palace, sell 583 Invisibility Shields and purchase Keep.

If you have 22,154 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Keep, sell 1166 Invisibility Shields and purchase Citadel.

If you have 46,620 Invisibility Shields and your current fortification is Citadel, sell 2331 Invisibility Shields and purchase Hand of God.

Training Down Your TFF

KoC players oftentimes decide to train down their TFF. That is, they decide to decrease their number of soldiers. Training down essentially signifies training your untrained soldiers into spies or sentries, OR retraining your trained attack/defense soldiers into spies and sentries. Spies and sentries do NOT count as part of your TFF.

More often than not, players train down because they are becoming usual targets for gold since accounts with a huge number of soldiers have high TBG. Players also train down because they want to have more spies or sentries AT THE EXPENSE of lowering the amount gold (income) they get every 30 minutes.

One way to effectively maximize your efforts to train down and making the most out of your TBG is to wait for your gold to reach a certain amount BEFORE spending it to train your soldiers into spies/sentries. For example, I may have 175,000 TBG and I need to train 200 spies. The best option that you can take is to wait for your available gold to reach 700,000. Thereafter, you can spend that gold to train spies. The reason behind this method is simple: the moment you train 50 spies with your 175,000 gold from your TBG, your TBG immediately DECREASES. Thus, after training 50 spies out of your target of 400 spies, you'll be having a lower TBG to spend for the next 350 soldiers to be trained.

The more basic reason is that SPIES give you a lower TBG compared to untrained/trained soldiers. Spies only give you 12 gold per 30 minutes whereas untrained/trained soldiers give you 28 gold. That's a huge difference assuming you have a big size of armies.

You can also decide to sell-off some of your weapons or tools so that you can get the gold you need to train spies. However, the drawback is that you lose weapons in the process. But if you are to choose this method, make sure that you sell spy tools if you want to train spies, or sell sentry tools if you want to train sentries. This is in order for you to at least compensate for the corresponding weapons you will lose in the sell-off process.

Kings of Chaos Recruiter

Kings of Chaos players are constantly searching for a recruiter. In the previous ages, players who were skilled in formulating software codes created KoC recruiters, or the so-called clickers for the game. Among the popular Kings of Chaos recruiters back then include Phoenix Rising's Wildfire with the CW tool, Striker Clan's Click Demon and many others. This age (Age X or Age 10), there are NO formal recruiters yet although there is an in-game recruiter available. However, there is one recruiter which is still in the development process.

It's called ClickBackPlease. It's still on the Alpha stage, meaning it's still a TEST release. The creator of the recruiter is a player named NotDeadYet. For more information about the latest Kings of Chaos recruiter, you can visit here.

Banking Tips

Banking is one way for you to buy stronger weapons later in the age, or purchase siege and fortification upgrades that are too costly. It might be that your Turn-Based Gold (TBG) isn't enough to give you the capability to buy weapons or purchase upgrades, so you resort to banking. But what exactly is banking? And how do you "bank"?

First-off, banking is purchasing cheaper weapons (or even stronger ones depending on your gold) with your TBG. The principle is to buy weapons that are intended to be sold-off later. Selling-off these "banked" weapons later gives you gold which you can use in turn to purchase stronger weapons or siege and fortification upgrades. (See list of siege technology and fortification upgrades)

For example, you want to purchase 1 Blackpowder Missile which costs 850,000 gold but you only have 350,000 available gold. You may choose to buy 1,750 sticks instead with the 350,000 gold. Note that all attack and defense weapons are 75% worth of their purchased value when you sell them. A stick which costs 200 gold when bought costs 150 when sold. Since you already have 1,750 sticks in your armory, all the 1,750 sticks would give you 262,500 gold assuming you sell them all (1,750 sticks multiplied by 150 gold per stick sold). And since 1 BPM costs 850,000, then:

850,000 - 262,500 = 587,500 gold. You still need 587,500 gold for you to be able to buy 1 BPM. Bank more sticks until you reach 587,500 gold worth of sticks more. That is:

587,500 gold (needed worth of sticks) divided by 150 gold (sell-off value per stick)
= 3,916.67 sticks (the number of sticks you need to bank in addition to the 1,750 sticks you already have)

In short,

1 BPM (850,000 gold) = 5,666.67 sticks (approx. 850,000 gold)

By the time you already have 5,667 sticks, you can now sell-off those sticks so that you can get 850,000 gold, enough to buy 1 BPM.

Remember, do not bank on covert tools (spy/sentry tools) as these only give you 60% worth of gold from their original purchase price. Attack/defense weapons, on the other hand, give you back 75% worth of gold when these weapons are sold-off.

Perhaps the more important role of banking falls under siege technologies and fortifications upgrade.

One More Way to Increase Your TFF

Because of the low clickback rates in the in-game recruiter, it is important to look for ways to maximize the growth of your TFF. Apparently, it became clear that joining a single, big alliance isn't enough to boost the TFF of players, especially those who want bigger TFF. There's one more way, however, on how you can further boost the size of your army by using the same in-game recruiter.

You can try to join the "I Click You, You Click Me" alliance. It's not really a formal alliance in KoC. Rather, it's a pseudo-alliance that seeks to increase the TFF of players gained through the in-game recruiter by way of mutual clicking. That is, you join the alliance and click on the recruit links of the members by setting up your preferences in the recruit page. The rest of the members are also expected to do the same. It's mutual clicking, basically.

You can even request the members in the "clicking" alliance to add you in their friends list so that you'll have a higher preference in the recruiting/clicking system. The more friends in your list and the more other players include you in their friends list would mean more soldiers for you.

Be warned, however, that not all players may actually register you in their friends list and that not all of the members in the clicking alliance are active clickers. So if you're a click-freak who is always on the clicking frenzy, remember that the number of recruit links you click does not necessarily mean you'll be getting the same number of return clicks from the entire members of the alliance. Unfortunately, some of those in the alliance list may just not click that much at all.

Nevertheless, it's worth a try. It's just one more way for you to maximize your soldier's growth.

Spy and Sentry Ratings Calculation

There are a few factors that you should consider when computing your spy or sentry rating. First, know if your race has a covert (spy/sentry) bonus. For example, Elves have 35% spy bonus, the Undead race has 35% sentry bonus, and Humans have 15% spy bonus. The only variation for the spy/sentry calculations for the races is the spy/sentry "bonus" part. Here's how to calculate.

The spy/sentry formula is:

M x [S + (n1 x N1) + (n2 x N2) + (n3 x N3)...] x R

where:

M = covert level multiplier
S = number of spies/sentries without tools
n1 = total number of 1st type of spy/sentry tools
N1 = strength of 1st type of spy/sentry tool
n2 = total number of 2nd type of spy/sentry tools
N2 = strength of 2nd type of spy/sentry tool
n3 = etc..
N3 = etc..
R = race multiplier for spy/sentry

Race multipliers:

Elves = 1.35 for spy
Undead = 1.35 for sentry
Humans = 1.15 for spy
Orcs = 1 for either spy or sentry
Dwarves = 1 for either spy or sentry

For a list of covert level multipliers, go HERE.

For a list of spy and sentry tools, go HERE.

Examples:

1. My race is Elves. I have 500 spies, 100 of which hold 100 nunchakus, 50 of which hold 50 grappling hooks, and 25 of which hold 25 cloaks. The rest of the 325 spies do not hold any spy tool. I have a level 8 covert level. I want to know my spy rating.

Computation

M x [S + (n1 x N1) + (n2 x N2) + (n3 x N3)] x R
=256 x [325 + (100 x 100) + (50 x 30) + (25 x 15)] x 1.35
=256 x [325 + 10,000 + 1,500 + 375] x 1.35
=256 x [12,200] x 1.35
=3,123,200 x 1.35
=4,216,320

My spy rating is 4,216,320.

2. My race is Humans. I have 630 spies, 90 of which hold 90 nunchakus, 35 of which hold 35 cloaks. The rest of the 505 spies do not hold any spy tool. I have a level 7 covert level. I want to know my spy rating.

Computation

M x [S + (n1 x N1) + (n2 x N2)] x R
=128 x [505 + (90 x 100) + (35 x 15)] x 1.15
=128 x [505 + (9,000) + (525)] x 1.15
=128 x [10,030] x 1.15
=1,476,416

My spy rating is 1,476,416.

3. My race is Undead. I have 628 sentries, 67 of which hold 67 lookout towers, 34 of which hold guard dogs. The rest of the 527 sentries do not hold any sentry tool. I have a level 9 covert level. I want to know my sentry rating.

Computation

M x [S + (n1 x N1) + (n2 x N2)] x R
=512 x [527 + (67 x 60) + (34 x 30)] x 1.35
=512 x [527 + (4,020) + (1,020)] x 1.35
=512 x [5,567] x 1.35

Low Clickback Rates in In-Game Recruiter

You might have noticed the low clickback rates in KoC's in-game recruiter lately. At the start of the age (Age X or 10), the clickback rates were well and good although the recruiter itself fared slower than the alliance recruiter softwares. Apparently, clicking 1000 recruit ID's today would only yield to about 100 to a little over 200 return clicks a day. The reason?

Well, for one thing, the "buddy list" system has a lot to do with it. All those listed under your "friends" list will get top priority in the recruit page. Meaning, you can click them all up to five times regardless of their morale. Now this is a major advantage for alliance with a big membership since the alliance members can just focus on their "internal growth" without making clicks for the rest of the KoC players outside of their group. Imagine an alliance with 100 members clicking on the links of their allies in their "friends" list five times a day. That gives each of them roughly around 500 soldiers a day.

The seeming "imbalance" in the recruit system as influenced by the buddy list scheme poses significant advantages to big alliances as I've said before. Now the major drawback to this is that players who belong to smaller alliances---meaning, alliances with very small membership---can hardly expect any profit from the status quo. Unless of course you decide to invite other players to include you in their friend's list---and assuming they are active clickers---inasmuch as you do the same thing to them, the current recruiting system won't be giving you a huge TFF in the coming days. Huge as in four to five digits per day, or week.

What to do? Frankly, the only way for now is for you to add as many people as you can in your friends list, sending them messages urging them to do the same thing for you. Or you can try this.

Stacking up on attack turns

Since attack turns now come once every 3 hours (which basically means you get 8 attack turns per day), every attack turn used is crucial. If you want to have a good gold pillage (who doesn't want to?), you can make the most of your attack turns by:

  1. Attacking players with high soldiers but lower defense compared to your strike action immediately after your target player has received his/her gold/income per turn. This is assuming that your target already has a sizeable amount of gold before the next turn/before you attack. Be warned, though, of the consequences of turn farming. Some players might get irritated and sabotage your weapons!
  2. Stack up your turns to around 100 to the max of 250. Once you have done that, you can put on an attack rampage. While stacking up, be sure to guard your TBG (turn-based gold) and spend them to attack weapons next to spy tools. In sum, purchase offensive weapons and tools while saving turns in the process. Remember to train down your untrained soldiers to spies/sentries before attacking so that you have few soldiers, which means you get to attack players with TFF (total fighting force) higher than yours for higher gold pillage.
Or if you're into raising your defense while saving on turns, try to click on the recruit page like mad. Apparently, it will help increase your number of soldiers, which means more income per turn while waiting for those precious attack turns to stack up. As of to date, however, there's this disadvantage for alliances with a small number of members and for "solo" players with the current recruiting/clicking system. As for huge alliances, it's a plus.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Here's the man behind this blogsite.

Splice created this blogsite because he has nothing else to do other than play KoC. Well, some others have told him to get a life, a real one at that. But hell does he care.

But seriously, the author has been around playing KoC since Age 2. From Ages 3 to 6, I played under the name SAB_MI for a few ages with an Elf account. I chose that race because I loved to spy around, sab around notwithstanding. I was never a ranker. I just played the game for fun.

I remember in Age 4 I used the name MI_SPY. Stats HERE

In Age X (or 10, as some others would have it), I tried the Undead race since I wasn't able to play from the middle part of Age 7 until Age 9. I managed to try the in-game recruiter as well, and boy was it fast. Too darn fast. But hey, it's a free game!

I was a part of an alliance in KoC composed largely of Filipino players. It was called "Tribu ni Lapu-Lapu" or TLL. And to this day I think I still am pretty much a part of the family.

Questions? Suggestions? Do post a comment. Thanks heaps for reading! \m/
